Alsace on Tandem Recumbent

With CHAM in Ferrette.

Ben spent the month of August at a worksite run CHAM (Chentiers historiques architecture medievale - Worksites for historic medieval architecture).  This is a French volunteer organization that organizes groups of French teenagers to work on repairing endangered medieval castles.  There are very few foreign volunteers, but they were happy to have an American who could speak English.

The kids had a lot of fun together,

but worked hard,

  • They wall they worked on
  • After a long day in cement
  • Chain gang to move cement
  • Break time

in this picturesque part of France.

  • Main lodge for the camp
